Yuck! Bathrooms and Bacteria

I'm not a scientist, or a carpenter, but maybe we can make a date for the two real soon. Here's why....

So many people I know get very sick with severe colds or the flu, every year! And even if it's NOT every year, it's way too often in my opinion. I myself spend money on getting a flu shot every winter and I've begun to do so for my children. I have spoken with several people who do the same. But I've noticed one thing in common with all of these people...they still get severely sick at least bi-annually.

I've realized recently that geez....wouldn't it save a lot of germ-passing if a person didn't have to get up, flush a toilet with a handle that several (full of urine or fecal germs) people touched before you, and open an already full-of-germs door handle (and for those companies who still use manual sink knobs), after they use the lavatory? Think of all of the disgusting germs that are sitting on those surfaces for God knows how long.

So, for your fellow citizens, please introduce your local carpenter to this concept and see what THEY can come up with to stop the insanity!! Let's start with a personal sink with soap in each stall, that you can use before you move from the toilet. You could reduce the amount of sinks in the main area, and it wouldn't have to be a full-powered sink. Just enough to get some warm water and soap together on those nasty hands of yours, so you don't have to touch that nasty toilet handle, and even worse door handle! And for everyone else's sake, please shut the lid on the loo before you flush!! The powerful force of a flushing toilet, sends a mist of these wonderful particles everywhere in your bathroom (or whatever tiny little public restroom stall you're in-even worse since you're enclosed in that tiny space)!

You don't have to be a germ-a-phobe to want this to get better, do you? Do you really feel comfortable, now that it's been pointed out, touching that public toilet handle or door handle? Yuck!!

And of course these solutions would only be needed until the country lowers its deficit and we can get some real science involved. The recent installment of motion-sensored spigots has been wonderful, but they need to be mandatory. Even in homes. Voice-activated doors would be nice. Maybe even a cell-phone-to-machine (door, toilet, sink, etc) prompt. There are endless possibilities!
