Rain or Shine

60

By MissJamieD

Weather the storm

Darkness to Light

Sunshine on your shoulders

Warms your soul

Brightens your life

Fills the dark holes

Your sunshine is your conscience

Screaming to be let out

Clouds keep passing over you

Raining sadness, pouring doubt

You can be a ray of light

And turn those clouds to sky

Burning away the grayness

Of the life that's blowing by

Sunshine on your shoulders

Can clear the rainy days

Make life a bit less stormy

Spending less time in a haze

A clear mind and happiness

You'll beat this hailstorm yet

Button your coat and hang on tight

Believe, and you won't get wet

A drop of rain may get you

May dim your ray of sun

But only for a moment

The sunshine and you, are one.

This is certainly not my best poem but I found some old poems last night that I had forgotten, this was one of them. I also wrote several last night....wait for them, they're on the way:)

Wow, that's a huge compliment! I adore him! At least I assume you meant it as a compliment..lol..I realize that the first line of a couple stanza's are similar to one of his songs but I assure you, it's original:) Thanks for reading! I appreciate your comments!

I immediately thought of the clear voiced poet John Denver.
